Wizards New Design a Win

It’s been a little more than 24 hours since the Wizards introduced the team’s new design and the people of the DMV have had some time to process their feelings.

The verdict: people seem to love it.

It has to be a relief to Ted Leonsis and company, who spent a lot of time and money on the highly anticipated new look. Polls have shown that the majority of responders "like" or "love" the uniforms. The tone on Twitter and in the media has been a positive one. Even the athletes who will be wearing the new colors have weighed in:

Now that the uniform buzz is dying down, there is chatter about the imminent team name change. Some people are speculating that the recurring use of the Washington Monument in the team’s logos might be indication a change from “Wizards” to the “Washington Monuments.”

Unlike many of the fans, we don’t hate the current team name. We’re not sure the “Monuments” sits right with us.
