Study: Redskins Have 13th Most Loyal Fan Base in NFL

The Redskins will play at FedEx Field Monday for the first time in nearly eight months when they host the Steelers in preseason action, and in doing so, will be surrounded by one of the more loyal fan bases in the NFL.

According to a recent study conducted by the Emory Goizueta Business School, Washington football fans rank 13th out of 32 teams in terms of their support for their team.

Those who conducted the study -- one of whom is a lifelong Redskins fan -- used a model of what they called fan equity, which takes into consideration on-field success, market population, stadium capacity and median income among other things.

The Cowboys finished first overall, with the Patriots, Jets, Saints and Giants rounding out the top five. Meanwhile, the Lions, Buccaneers, Cardinals, Falcons and Raiders ranked in the bottom five.
