Redskins' Win Over Giants Leads Florida Man To Shoot At Police

Apparently, a mixture of pills, alcohol and a losing football team makes for a deadly cocktail.

Ocala, FL, resident Richard P. Braccia was arrested Tuesday after he shot at police in a fit of blacked-out rage over the Washington Redskins defeating the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.

According to the report, Braccia doesn't remember much from the evening in question, but here's what he did remember:

He was drinking for roughly four hours. He said he has been a New York Giants fan for roughly 30 years and was upset that the Washington Redskins had beaten his team during the Monday Night Football game.

So after watching RGIII and the Redskins run wild on his Giants, Braccia vented by assaulting his wife and firing a handgun at the officer that responded to her 911 call. At least, that's what he's been told; as previously mentioned, he claimed in court that he didn't remember doing anything described above. Braccia was charged with three counts of attempted murder on a law enforcement officer, domestic battery and tampering with a victim. Luckily, his wife and the responding officers are all OK.

“I didn't mean to shoot at them,” he said. "I'm not in a good spot right now."

Neither are the Giants. They lead the Redskins by just one game in the NFC East with four games remaining.
