Redskins Sign Adrian Peterson for 2 Years, $8 Million: Reports

The Washington Redskins are re-signing running back Adrian Peterson, NBC4 Sports' Sherree Burruss confirmed.

According to reports, the deal is worth $8 million for two years.

The Redskins signed Peterson, who turns 34 next week, to a one-year deal in August as its backfield was depleted by injuries in the 2018 preseason.

Peterson ran for 1,042 yards for the Redskins in 2018 — his eighth 1,000-yard season in his 12-year career but his first since 2015.

In 2012, Peterson had a 2,000-yard season and won an MVP award with the Minnesota Vikings, who drafted him in 2007. He has been selected for the Pro Bowl seven times.

For his career, Peterson has rushed for 13,318 — eighth most in NFL history.
