Ovi O's Cereal to Hit Shelves in DC Area

A portion of proceeds will benefit the Children's Cancer Foundation

Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin will soon have his own cereal: Ovi O’s.

Ovi O's is set to be sold in Giant groceries in D.C., Maryland, Virginia and Delaware starting Sept. 17.

A portion of proceeds from the limited-edition honey nut cereal will go to the Children’s Cancer Foundation. Ovechkin said he was happy to help.

“I love cereal and it’s a huge honor to work with Giant to make Ovi O’s and help the Children’s Cancer Foundation support kids and families in the D.C. community,” he said in a statement.

The cereal box features a gap-toothed Ovi and #8's signature. It also will have a code for a Snapchat game you can play. Scanning the code will lead you to an interactive hockey game where players help Ovechkin shoot cereal at moving targets.
