In defeating the Miami Marlins 4-0 Friday afternoon, the Nationals clinched the best record in the National League and therefore home-field advantage throughout the NL portion of the upcoming playoffs.
Of course, the American League holds home-field advantage in the World Series after winning the All-Star Game this summer. Assuming the Nationals make it there, they will enjoy the comforts of home until that point.
Game 1 of the NLDS will be held at Nationals Park Oct. 3.
