We're big fans of mascots around here, which is why we're shocked that this is new to us.
Capital One has been holding a season long mascot challenge and, like the football team, Maryland's Testudo isn't faring so well. He's 3-6 in head-to-head battles this year and ranked 11 out of 16 participating mascots.
Apparently the battles are determined by fan votes, and Testudo needs to make it into the top 8 in order to advance to the playoffs. This week he's up against Oklahoma's Boomer, who sits at 1-8.
