Harper Thanks Pitcher for Homer With Kiss

Bryce Harper is already proving he belongs in the majors with his bat. And now he is showing off the big league attitude to back it up.

Monday night during a game between the Hagerstown Suns and Greensboro Grasshoppers, Harper belted a line-drive solo home run to center in the bottom of the sixth.

Harper gave the ball a nice, long look before beginning a slow trot around the bases.

Then, in the last 90 feet of his victory lap, Harper looked over and blew Grasshopper pitcher Zachary Neal a little kiss.

It’s hard to catch the first time, but if look closely you can see Harper pucker up and send one Neal’s way.

You can’t tell from the tape if Neal said something to prompt the smooch, but as soon as Harper crosses the plate, he turns around and starts to jaw. And seeing as Neal was taken out of the game just one batter later, it’s possible Harper got in his head.

By the top of the seventh, however, Harper’s homer and kiss turned into just a fun side note as the Grasshoppers came from behind to plate three runs and hold on for a 3-2 win.
