Do Your Part in Heckling Tim Thomas

The Washington Capitals return home to Verizon Center Monday for Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series against the Boston Bruins. Tied at 1-1, the Caps are thrilled to be back in front of their home fans after stealing home-ice advantage away from the defending Stanley Cup champions.

"It's big coming back," Matt Hendricks said after Sunday's optional skate. "Now we have home-ice and it turns into a five-game series."

By now, you have probably heard about Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas' decision to skip the team's honorary visit to the White House in January. Now it is your turn to exercise your right as a "free citizen" and heckle Thomas for having the audacity to express his political views (ed: there is a tinge of sarcasm in that sentence, but really, let him have it).

Caps blogs Russian Machine Never Breaks and Sick, Unbelievable have both prepared for this occasion, making several Barack Obama-related masks and posters for you to bring to Verizon Center Monday.

Have fun and remember to use them liberally.
