Dan Snyder On Beating Giants: “I Hate Those…”

While in a Redskins-induced state of euphoria, you might have lost control of that filter between your brain and your mouth. I mean, your favorite team just defeated a fierce division rival, so the only way to truly appreciate that is by cursing Eli Manning, Victor Cruz et al. under your breath, right?

Well, you're obviously not alone. After the 'Skins dispatched of the Giants in a 17-16 win Monday, team owner Dan Snyder reportedly offered this incredibly eloquent, yet terse statement in the locker room:

That should come as no surprise. Snyder is just as big of a Redskins fan as any of you.

Yet, there was also the little matter of the Redskins reportedly using quotes from Giants owner John Mara regarding the Redskins' violation of salary-cap rules as bulletin board material. You see, Mara is the chairman of the NFL's Management Committee, which punished the Redskins and Dallas Cowboys this summer for attempting to circumvent the salary cap, a punishment that ultimately cost the 'Skins $36 million in cap space.

Meanwhile, the Giants didn't take too kindly to Snyder's comments when briefed on them by the media.

“I could give two [bleeps] what Daniel Snyder has to say,” Chris Snee told The New York Post. “I’ve heard lots of things about people hating him too. Including people that work for him.”

Said Martellus Bennett: “I don’t even know who that is.”
