Art Monk, Darrell Green Support Redskins Name Change

It is one thing to hear a random assortment of congressmen and congresswomen or local fans call for the Redskins to change their polarizing name, but it is another thing entirely when two of the franchise's most revered legends do the same.

Hall-of-Famers Art Monk and Darrell Green told WTOP that the team should consider moving away from its iconic, yet racially insensitive name.

"[If] Native Americans feel like Redskins or the Chiefs or [another] name is offensive to them, then who are we to say to them 'No, it's not'?" Monk told WTOP.

"It deserves and warrants conversation because somebody is saying, 'Hey, this offends me,'" Green said, adding that a name change should be "seriously considered."

Team owner Dan Snyder has been emphatic in his support for the Redskins name, stating that it will never change
