Weather should be good for travelers

Stressed about last-minute gifts? We get it.

Stressed about traffic? We so get it.

One thing you probably don't need to stress about? The weather, which should be cooperating with those who have travel plans Saturday, said NBC4 meteorologist Chuck Bell.

Weather is expected to be mild and dry for holiday travelers.

The D.C. region got off to a clear and cold start on Saturday.

High pressure will provide a clearing sky Saturday afternoon with high temperatures in the mid- to upper 40s.

Clear skies and light winds will allow for a seasonably cold start on Christmas morning. High temperatures will eventually climb to 45-52 degrees.

Another weak disturbance will approach late on Sunday afternoon. This will bring some extra clouds in for the second half of Sunday afternoon, but no precipitation is expected.

Our next chance for rain will be on Tuesday.

Other than that, you should be good to go -- literally.
