The D.C. region will have much colder weather coming in today on gusty northwest winds, which may gust as high as 50 mph this afternoon, according to NBC Washington meteorologist Tom Kierein.
Unfortunately, that may cause some scattered isolated power outages.
A wind advisory is in effect for this afternoon for the entire Washington region.
Temperatures will drop throughout the afternoon and into tonight, and by dawn Wednesday we'll bottom out in the teens.
Thankfully, the winds will greatly diminish later tonight and tomorrow.
It will remain colder than average into Saturday. But then some warmer weather is on tap for the end of the weekend and the first part of next week with no big snowstorms in sight.
