It’s going to be a wild weather week in the D.C. area.
Temperatures will continue to be high for the first half of the week and then drop sharply, with a chance of snow Thursday. Then, after a cold two days, warmer temperatures are expected to arrive just in time for the weekend.
Temperatures went as high as 72 degrees at Reagan National early Tuesday afternoon, smashing the record set in 2008 of 64 degrees.
Tuesday night will be breezy with a chance of rain expected. Wednesday will remain warm, with a high of about 60 degrees. Then, temperatures will drop overnight.
On Thursday, the high is not expected to get above 40 degrees. Wet snow is possible in the morning but should clear up by the afternoon. Friday should be just as cold, with partly cloudy skies.
Saturday will be sunny with temperatures getting into the 50s, before climbing all the way to 72 degrees on Sunday.
