Stormy Weather on the Way

Expect rain to continue through Sunday

A big storm system that has been slowly making its way across the country is almost here.

The system will reach the area overnight and could include some strong thunderstorms with some brief heavy downpours Saturday, Storm4 meteorologist Doug Kammerer said. The rain will be off and on all day.

Expect more rainy weather Sunday before the skies clear Monday.

About 1-2 inches of rain is possible with this system.

This system brought severe weather to portions of the Ohio Valley -- Illinois and Indiana and down through Kentucky, where numerous tornadoes were reported -- Friday. Kammerer does not expect the same severe weather in our region.

The rain will cool things down a bit. Expect highs in the mid-60s to 70 degrees Saturday and about 60 degrees Sunday.
