Remember: If It Looks Wet, It's Probably Ice
Thursday morning rush hour may be icy

With colder air blowing through the D.C. area by the morning rush, roads and sidewalk may refreeze, creating another hazardous commute. So be careful driving and walking again.
Thursday will be partly cloudy with patchy ice in the morning. Expect highs around 40 degrees again.
Friday will be partly sunny with a 30 percent chance of snow showers or flurries. It will be breezy with highs in the mid- to upper 30s.
Freezing rain Wednesday morning eventually turned to rain, but slippery conditions remained on secondary streets and roads for much of the day. Same goes for sidewalks. Pedestrians reported treacherous conditions, and some slips and falls resulted in hospital visits.
Moderate rain continued through much of the afternoon, but the storm has mostly moved north. High temperatures around 40 degrees were recorded in the D.C. area Wednesday.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory and a winter storm warning for most of the Washington region through Wednesday afternoon.
The conditions led to some school delays, closings and early dismissals, on Tuesday and Wednesday, which led to a lot of sledding around the area.
The last time D.C. waited this late into the season to record its first snowfall of at least an inch at Reagan National Airport was 1995, when 3.9 inches fell on Jan. 28. On Tuesday, an inch had been recorded by 9:25 a.m.
