Isolated Severe Storms Move Through

Heat and humidity led to isolated strong storms Wednesday evening.

The sometimes dangerous storms prompted a few weather alerts in Maryland and Virginia.

The storms carried threats of frequent lightning and damaging winds.

Wednesday also marked the return of high heat and humidity, with temperatures in the mid-90s and a heat index near 100 degrees.

Thursday morning will be overcast and possibly foggy through mid-morning, and there is potential for a few more showers in central and southern Virginia, but there will be none of that Friday, which is looking like a gorgeous sunny day with low humidity.

Most of the weekend looks dry, with isolated showers possible late Sunday afternoon.
