Enjoy what may be the last 90-degree day of the summer.
Today may be the last day of summer as far as the weather is concerned.
NBC meteorologist Chuck Bell says that today might be the last 90-degree day for a while. A weather front over Illinois and Indiana promises to bring cool weather to the mid-Atlantic area -- and possibly long-lasting relief from the high heat and humidity.
But folks looking to get outside and enjoy a sunny day should not wait for the weather to drop. Rain is expected with the cooler weather.
Today should remain sunny, with some clouds arriving late in the afternoon and temperatures in the high 80s and low 90s. Tomorrow, there is a chance of rain in the area, particularly between 12 noon and midnight.
More storms could be on the way, too, if a wave now circulating in the eastern Atlantic Ocean turns into a tropical storm.
