A freeze warning was issued for areas north and west of the D.C. metro area until 9 a.m. Wednesday, when near-freezing temps are expected.

Unprotected vegetation sensitive to freezing temperatures will be killed or damaged.

A frost advisory is also in effect for the D.C. metro area until 9 a.m. Wednesday. The D.C. suburbs dipped to less than 40 degrees early Wednesday under a clear sky.

You'll see a few clouds Wednesday afternoon, with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Thursday won't be as chilly, with increasing clouds and a few rain showers likely, mainly during the afternoon and evening.

It'll be partly cloudy Friday, with highs in the upper 50s, and turning warmer for the weekend, with highs Saturday in the mid 60s under a partly sunny sky. Sunday morning should be partly sunny, with temps in the 50s, for the Marine Corps Marathon. Afternoon temps on Sunday may hit the mid 70s along with with a chance of a few showers.

Halloween on Monday is looking mostly sunny, with afternoon highs in the mid 60s. It'll be mostly clear for trick-or-treaters on Monday evening, with temps in the 50s.
