A Soggy Week for D.C.

The weather in the Washington region today will depend greatly on whether you spend the day east or west of the District.

Showers arrived from the Midwest today, bringing wet weather from western Fairfax County through the District and environs. The rain marks the start of a soggy stretch that will last through Wednesday. And because this front is going to stall over the area, temperatures in the lower 80s and increased chances for rain will persist through Wednesday.

Today, however, is still a good day to head out east to the beach. It will stay partly sunny from Rehoboth down to Bethany Beach. Though the weather will be slightly cooler in Ocean City, staying in the low 80s, the water there will be somewhat warmer.

By Thursday, temperatures will pick up, and the thermometer will reach for the 90s by Friday.
