Six Metro Stations Closed This Weekend

Metro riders should expect delays again this weekend, WMATA said.

On the Orange Line, six stations will be closed: Capitol South, Eastern Market, Potomac Avenue and Stadium-Armory (Orange/Blue lines), and Minnesota Avenue and Deanwood (Orange Line only).

Free shuttlebuses will replace trains between Federal Center SW and Cheverly. Trains will operate in two segments throughout the weekend: between Vienna and Federal Center SW every 15 minutes, and between New Carrollton and Cheverly every 15 minutes.

The last train of the night will depart 50 minutes earlier than usual, at 1:46 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and at 10:46 p.m. Sunday.

On the Blue Line, four stations will be closed: Capitol South, Eastern Market, Potomac Avenue and Stadium-Armory (Orange/Blue lines).

Free shuttle buses will run between Federal Center SW and Benning Road.

The last train from Largo Town Center to Benning Road will depart 25 minutes earlier than usual, at 1:59 a.m. both Friday and Saturday, and at 10:59 p.m. Sunday .

On the Red Line, trains will single-track between Farragut North and Judiciary Square.

Trains between Shady Grove and Glenmont will run every 20 minutes. Extra trains will run between Shady Grove and Farragut North, and between Glenmont and Judiciary Square every 10 minutes on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The work will begin Friday night at 10 p.m. and continue through Sunday, Metro said.

On the Green/Yellow Lines, work will affect service late Sunday night only, from 10 p.m. until closing. Trains will single-track between L'Enfant Plaza and Mount Vernon Square.
