Streetcar Operators Begin Training on H Street

Monday was the first day of training for operators on the streetcar line in northeast D.C.

Twenty-eight drivers will train for 30 hours. They must be certified to carry riders.

The D.C. Department of Transportation asks pedestrians to never step in front of a moving streetcar. Drivers are reminded that parking in the streetcar’s path is a $100 ticket.

Streetcar service is expected to start later this year.
