Metro: Changes to Rail, Bus Service Likely Due to Weather

Metro says service changes to its rail and bus service are likely because of the expected snow on Friday evening and Saturday.

Metro says its trains can operate very close to normal schedule in snowfall of up to six inches. But Metro says once snow reaches about eight inches, it may be necessary to suspend service above ground.

Metro says buses can provide regular service in one to two inches of snow but some routes that operate on hills and curves may be detoured. Metro says that during severe weather it will first reduce bus service and then limit service to snow emergency routes.

If there is enough snow, Metro will halt bus service until it is safe for service to resume.
