If you're heading down into the bowels of the earth at the Dupont Circle Metro, better leave your high heels at home. You too, my queens.

All entrance escalators at the Red Line station are out of service due to a mechanical problem. (Would you expect less, especially after the switch malfunction last night between Metro Center and Farragut North?)

Either way you look at it, it's a long way to walk. Sure, maybe not for you triathlon/marathoners and gym fiends. The rest of us will be taking the wheezy special, no thank you.

The good news is that station itself remains open and shuttle bus service has been requested.
