Maryland's senators say almost $10 million in federal money will help fund intersection improvements near three military facilities.

Sens. Barbara Mikulski and Benjamin Cardin, who are both Democrats, made the announcement Friday about the U.S. Transportation Department funding.

Three military facilities will soon see increased traffic as tens of thousands of jobs are relocated due to base closings and realignments.

About $4.4 million will go toward improving intersections near the Bethesda Naval Medical Center. Another $2.5 million will help make improvements around Andrews Air Force Base.

About $2.9 million will go toward intersections near the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Harford County.
