Bridge Inspections to Narrow D.C. Ramps, Overpasses

Driving around Washington, D.C., this week will be delayed across some ramps and overpasses as the District Department of Transportation will narrow roads to one lane.

Crews will be conducting bridge inspections from Wednesday, July 6 to Friday, July 8. The times of the road narrowing varies depending on the project, and motorists should expect moderate-to-heavy delays.

  • Westbound I-66 "E Street" Exit under the T. Roosevelt Bridge Ramps followed by the Northbound Ohio Drive SW Ramp to I-66 E, alternating right and left lane closures on Wednesday, July 6 from 10 am to 1:30 pm, weather permitting.
  • Eastbound T. Roosevelt Bridge on the I-66 E Exit ramp from T. Roosevelt Bridge to the E Street Exit on Wednesday, July 6, left lane closure from 12:30 pm to 3 pm weather permitting.
  • Southbound I-66 E Street Exit between from T. Roosevelt Bridge to Constitution Avenue overpasses, alternating right and left lane closures on Thursday, July 7, from 10 am to 1:30 pm, weather permitting.
  • Eastbound T. Roosevelt Bridge Ramp to Eastbound Constitution Avenue, right lane closure on Thursday, July 7, from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm, weather permitting.
  • Westbound Constitution Avenue Ramp over ramp to E Street Expressway and I-66 E, right lane closure on Friday, July 8, from 10 am to 11:30 am, weather permitting.
  • Eastbound T. Roosevelt Bridge Ramp to the E Street Exit under Westbound Constitution Avenue Ramp through under Westbound T. Roosevelt Bridge Ramp, alternating right and left lane closures on Friday, July 8, from 11 am to 2 pm, weather permitting.
  • Northbound Ohio Drive SW Ramp to Eastbound E Street Expressway from under Westbound Constitution Avenue Ramp through under Westbound T. Roosevelt Bridge Ramp, partial right lane closure on Friday, July 8, from 1:30 pm to 3 pm, weather permitting.
