The National Park Service temporarily closed the curbside westbound lane of the Arlington Memorial Bridge for further evaluation Monday after finding an area of corrosion.

Federal Highway Administration engineers found the corrosion during a routine inspection.

The lane and 4 feet of the 13-foot wide sidewalk is closed out of an abundance of caution.
