Nordstrom Rack to Continue World Domination in Tysons

MORE Nordstrom Racks! More, more!

As part of its continiung quest to take over every single square foot of retail space in the region, a new Nordstrom Rack is moving into the space vacated by Filene's Basement at Tysons Corner.

Not that we're complaining.

Missy Frederick of Washington Business Journal reports: "When Filene's Basement decided to liquidate, local retail experts said that Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx-type stores would be natural candidates to sweep in and replace the clothing store. Gyms are another potential replacement tenant."

Now the discount offspring of department store retailer Nordstrom is fulfilling its (latest) destiny.

In the recent budget-busting past, Nordstrom Racks have also opened at Friendship Heights in May 2011, and Pentagon Centre and Fair Lakes Promenade in fall 2010.

We wouldn't be opposed to 10 or 20 more, though.
