Mount Pleasant Temporium Opens

Short attention span?

Great, because the... wait, what?

Pay attention! OK, so the Mount Pleasant Temporium opens this Friday, Feb. 18, a temporary (go figure) retail and performance space at 3068 Mount Pleasant St. N.W.

More than 30 vendors will offer screen-printed posters, and shirts, hand-bound blank books, knitted items, "upcycled" jewelry and more. Katharine Watson offers hand-block printed cards; Melinda Merinsky makes art that includes a red plastic triceratops with lamplights sprouting from its forehead in place of horns.

On the non-consumer side, the theme of storytelling is threaded throughout the Temporium's schedule. Expect performances by SpeakeasyDC, Radio CPR workshops and "I'm From Up Top," a play that dissects a late teen's mind by using eight different actors to portray him. See the complete schedule of events here.

The Temporium will be open through Sunday, March 13.
