If you hear Beyonce’s “Let Me Upgrade You” ringing in your ears as you schlep through your house, then maybe it's time for a make-over -- home-edition style. That’s why we’re big fans of finds like Classique Home, a local furniture retailer that sells luxury items for a fraction of the price.
The days of clean lines and simple patterns are over! The new look is Vintage Modern -- think grandpa’s den meets South Beach meets “I Dream of Jeannie.” Basically, it’s classically adorned furniture, bright walls and bold rugs.
The stores are a hidden treasure for those of us who would prefer our home not look exactly like everyone else’s on the block. The furniture screams elegance, complete with exquisitely detailed woodwork, luxurious fabrics and elaborate designs. A piece from this line can turn the average living room into a layout straight off the pages of Elle Décor.
Classique Home is able to reproduce expensive design techniques for a fraction of the price by eliminating the middle man. Managing partners of this family-owned business, Avisha and Anoush Hendiazad, travel to Italy, Spain and China multiple times a year, spending weeks translating their designs directly to the manufacturer.
Classique Homes, originally an exclusive Persian rug retailer, has expanded its offerings to accommodate the needs and tastes of its many high profiled customers. The family-run company opened locations in Falls Church and Ashburn, displaying their goods in more than 20,000 to 30,000 square feet of lavish show room. In addition, Avisha and Anoush have also started Sorelle, a boutique home furnishing line currently available online and on the Home Shopping Network.
Who knows? With a little work your place could go toe-to-toe with DC’s power couple Ali Wentworth and George Stephanopoulos’ Washington dig, this month’s Elle Décor cover feature.
