It's Like the Opposite of Cash4Gold

Jewelry trunk shows all this week at Saks

Look, we're not ones to tell you how to spend your money. If you want to throw it all into that crazy 401(k) thing, that's just fine. If, however, you'd like to throw caution to the wind (and, ironically, invest in something you'll still have next year), there's always this week's series of jewelry events at the Saks Fifth Avenue location at Tysons Galleria.

Reps and designers from four jewelry companies will be on hand to showcase the season's newest pieces on the second floor.

Vhernier Trunk Show
Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16, noon-6 p.m.
Modern, sleek European looks feature gems and smooth materials such as ebony, coral, and kogolong (a milky volcanic stone).

Utopia Trunk Show
Thursday, April 16, noon-6 p.m.
Chunky, eclectic pieces focus on amber, onyx and lots of silver.

Temple St. Clair Trunk Show
Friday, April 17, noon-5 p.m.
Detailed but sleek yellow-gold earrings, pendants and more lean toward a regal style.

Graff Trunk Show
Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Diamonds, diamonds and more diamonds. So when the Dow crashes down the rest of the way, at least you'll have something to pawn for food.

Saks is also running a promo right now: Spend $2,000 or more in fashion and/or fine jewelry (um... OK, we wish) on a major purchase account and pay no interest and no payments for 12 months.
