The Old Town Boutique District is trying a new experiment in giving, with a Charity Day is this Saturday, May 14. In Alexandria, 29 shops will each offer an activity or promotion to raise money for a charity of their choice.
Beauty products retailer Bellacara will be donating the entire day's profits to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Fibre Space is asking for donations of knitted or crocheted 8” squares made with machine-washable yarn in the colors of beige, brown, army green or khaki, now through May 14, for the Warrior Transition Unit at Fort Belvoir. The Full Cup is holding a drive of packages of new panties for non-profit Dress for Success.
