Two local celebrities are using their big names to help collect Thanksgiving meals for D.C. area families.
Hip hop artist Wale is teaming up with Washington Wizards point guard John Wall to host a turkey drive. The two are collecting non-perishable food items today at Bar 7 (1015 1/2 7th St. N.W.) until 2 p.m..
Organizers said Wale, a D.C. native himself, will then distribute more than 50 holiday dinners, complete with a turkey, side dishes and all the fixings to Washington-area families in need.
