The Cereal Bowl poured out its first serving in the District Tuesday, but it's celebrating big-time tonight. Cleveland Park Night means all primary menu items are only $1 from 6 to 10 p.m.

Now you can shun all those boring ol' boxes in your cabinet (bran, seriously, what were you thinking?) and head to 3420 Connecticut Ave. N.W. to mix and match from dozens of cereal options and more than 40 toppings... although we're happy to report pepperoni isn't one of them.

Instead, there's fresh and dried fruit, nuts, candy and apple pie filling. And be honest -- you might be saying to yourself right now, "But I can eat cereal at home"! Yeah, sure. But you'd never put apple-pie filling on your cereal at home, would you? (Actually, if you would, we probably don't want to know about it.)

You can opt for a pre-made goodie like the healthy-ish Morning Glory (Frosted Shredded Mini Wheats, strawberries, almonds and walnuts) or the kinda-scary Dirt Bowl (Cookie Crisp, Oreos, chocolate syrup and gummy worms). It's not all cereal, though -- other options include oatmeal smoothies (called Oaties), parfaits, frozen yogurt and coffee drinks.

The spot's open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays, with a 11 p.m. closing on Fridays; Saturdays 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The official grand opening celebration is this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
