Ooooh, a Fancy-Pants Booze Cruise!

Just another fun thing we can't afford

Whiskey fans: Ditch the jorts and riff-raff of last week's Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival and gracefully saunter onto the uber-classy Whiskey Cruise this Wednesday night.

Don’t be fooled by the name -- this three-hour soiree, hosted by the Whiskey Guild, actually take places on a yacht at Pier 4 on the Washington Channel. Boarding is from 7-7:30 p.m., but we suggest getting their early to find your sea legs, because all those whiskey tastings aren’t going to make your balance any better.

Bar-friendly whiskeys like Jack Daniels and Jim Beam didn’t get the invite to this fancy fête, but distillers and master blenders from Scotland, Ireland, Canada and Japan (who knew?) will be on hand to showcase their handcrafted whiskeys.

At $85, the cruise is anything but cheap, but all ticket purchases include a full dinner (veggie and vegan options available) and will also give you the chance to sample from 150 rare and exclusive whiskeys. A VIP option is available for those who want to imbibe during a private tasting an hour ahead of time.

Just make sure to buy your tickets in advance, because walk-ins are not welcome.
