A new month: Another rent check due, another month of reasons why you're not getting up at 6 a.m. for spinning classes, another month of your mother asking you when you're gonna give her some grandkids. Wow. The next four weeks might seem kinda rough at this point.
Good thing a new month also means new cupcake flavors at Georgetown Cupcake (1209 Potomac St. N.W.). This month's specials are strawberry, chocolate strawberry, and Valentine-themed cupcakes. The last are only around during the week of V-Day, or by special order. (What a great way to tell your entire office how much you love them.)
Of course, you can still order up all the regulars, such as lava fudge, chocolate banana, carrot and red velvet. Well, if you're willing to stand in the long line outside in the freezing cold on a windy hill, but whatever.
If you want to avoid the line and you also have major money to burn (we're jealous), take note that Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis of Georgetown Cupcake will be dishing up the teeny, adorable noshes at the Celebrate Women Chefs Event tomorrow night at the Ritz Carlton (1150 22nd St. N.W.) to benefit the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance. Tix are $250 and the event kicks off at 6:30 p.m.
