Midsummer Dining Deals Get Us All Tingly Inside

Or maybe that's just our stomachs grumbling

Tired of cracking open a Bud Heavy while nuking your frozen Stouffer's or Lean Cuisine for dinner? Yep, us too. Thankfully, three local restaurants are offering midsummer specials aimed at getting you off your couch and onto their decks.

Head over to Old Glory BBQ (3139 M St. N.W.) for "Off the Hook Thursdays," running through the end of August. Each week, different seafood will be grilled and served on their outdoor deck from 5 p.m. until the food runs out.

The crawfish boils have come to an end at Acadiana (901 New York Ave. N.W.), but a new themed party has laid claim to the deck. Come out weekdays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for a Big Easy Happy Hour. Sip select wine or a Southern cocktail (mint julep, Georgia peach tea and Pimm's Cup) for $5 and draft beers for $4, or grab a bucket o' Abita beers for $12. And if your tummy's a-grumblin', nibble on half-price appetizers like fried green tomatoes, oysters and barbecue pork ribs.

Meanwhile, the folks over at Ten Penh (1001 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W.) want to give you a bit more bang for your buck with their Daily Double Happy Hours. (Yeah, weekday back-to-back happy hours will NOT make our 6 a.m. alarm sound more bearable). Each day, enjoy half-price appetizers from the bar menu and $5 Asian draft beers and cocktails, while relaxing at the bar or out on the deck. The weekday happy hours run weekdays from 3 to 6 p.m. and again from 9:30 p.m. to close, and Sunday's happy hour runs from 5:30 p.m. to closing.
