Meat Fighter 2: D.C.'s Vegan Week

DC Meat-Free Week Returns

Much to the chagrin of esteemed meat connoisseurs, D.C.’s meat fighters reunite as the second annual D.C. Meat-Free Week runs through Sunday.

D.C. Vegan is promoting a series of event this week that features specials at vegan-friendly restaurants and food trucks. Highlighting the week is a five-course tasting menu at Nage, vegan pies at Dangerously Delicious Pies, and a food truck day with specials on favorites from Eat Wonky, Fojol Bros., DC Slices and more.

This year’s event also includes a photo contest, where participants can submit their best photos of a meat-free week entrée to win a large vegan produce box from Washington’s Green Grocer.

Coming right on the heels of last week's D.C. Meat Week, this event aims to spread awareness of vegan food options, as well as show people the advantages to eating vegan meals.

So carnivores will need to sit this week out... unless of course, they’re willing to turn over a new leaf. Pretty much literally.
