Farewell, good soldiers.

Generous George's Positive Pizza & Pasta Place in Alexandria will be closing its doors for good Sunday.

The restaurant, at 3006 Duke Street, has been in business for 33 years in business. It's been the host of several parties and special functions, but has now become a victim of the economy, NBCWashington reports.

Due to the closing, 28 employees will lose their jobs -- a blow to many who have worked there for years.

A franchise of the restaurant, which is run under the same name in Herndon, will remain open.
