Food Truck Thursdays Arrive in Crystal City

Trucks will gather at corner of Crystal Drive and 18th Street

Crystal City has a new answer for those who are sick of a routine lunch. Starting today, the Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) is introducing Food Truck Thursdays.

Every Thursday, food trucks will gather in the parking lot on the corner of Crystal Drive and 18th Street. The event will host a variety of trucks that will be able to sign up for free reserved spots in the lot. This allows for hungry customers to gather in one spot, and pick from a variety of tasty food, including the already confirmed Hot People Food, Red Hook Lobster, Doug the Food Dude and Willie’s Po’Boy. Others have expressed interest in joining, and are expected to participate soon.

“Food Truck Thursdays is designed to be a fun and energetic dining option that will enhance the food truck and overall lunchtime experience,” said Crystal City BID President/CEO Angela Fox in a statement. “We have enjoyed working with property owners and food truck vendors to create what we hope is a win-win food truck solution and are excited to launch this pilot.”

Crystal City BID hopes that Food Truck Thursdays will be as successful as other programs put on by the organization, including Monday Morning Yoga, Outdoor Zumba on Wednesdays, and the Crystal City FRESHFARM Farmers Market.
