And at Firefly (1310 New Hampshire Ave. N.W.), a southern Dupont Circle restaurant and lounge, you can almost believe that it's the middle of summer. Bathed in dim, warm light, the spot deals in cozy yellows and blues, with the bar dominated by a massive golden tree trunk. It's all meant to evoke a comfortable summer night -- hence the name -- and it does.
Firefly's just launched a new happy hour, weekdays from 5-6 p.m. (Wow, a happy hour that really IS only an hour. That's actually a rarity.) You'll find $3 cocktails, $3 Sam Adams beers, and $4 glasses of select red and white wines.
Looking for some summer comfort on a weekend? Try the Sunday Pajama Brunch, served by staffers donning (oh, go ahead and guess) pajamas. Wear PJs too, and get a free coffee. And if your PJs have actual fireflies on them, you'll earn a free cocktail. Although we might define that as "trying just a little bit too hard."
