Dished: Shake Shack Bumps Five Guys From Nats Park

  • Well, now we know why Five Guys got the boot from Nats Park. It looks like the D.C.-based chain has been ousted by a big burger competitor: New York import Shake Shack from restaurateur Danny Meyer. The stadium will feature not one, but four original Meyer concepts. Among them are an original Shack Shack, Blue Smoke (barbecue), Box Frites (Belgian-style fries with dipping sauces), and El Verano Taqueria (Mexican fare). Happy opening day! (More details at The Feast.)
  • Get half-off food, drinks, and hookah at the Afghan Kabob House (2045 Wilson Blvd., Arlington) near the Courthouse Metro via sowhatsthedeal. (Find more deals over at The Feast.)
  • A Boston restaurant -- the soon-to-open Temazcal -- will be the first in the country to fully embrace iPad menus. "The people that I have been feeding Mexican food to for the past 30 years have had trouble with the Spanish translations," said co-owner and chef Todd Hall, a two-time James Beard winner. On the iPads, for example, "we can show the picture of a quail -- it's beautifully roasted, wrapped in bacon, on a shiny, beautiful sauce... You could never write 'Codorniz Relleno' and have it come across the way that photograph does." (See the video at The Feast.)
