Looking to spice up your Memorial Day?
No, not that kind of spice. Get your mind out of the gutter.
Hit up Café Saint-Ex's Memorial Day Chili Cook-Off -- it's Monday from noon to 4p.m.
Contestants can enter the competition and pit their own chili recipes against those of Saint-Ex and Bar Pilar. But if you're like us and have no clue how to make chili (ketchup, beans, and some, uh... peppers?), you can fork over $5 for a bowl of chili and a Peroni drink special.
Got kids underfoot? This is one time you can swing by a bar and not shell out for a baby-sitter first. This event also has a lemonade stand (gotta love child labor) and face painting.
All proceeds from the event will go toward Ross Elementary School's cafeteria (as will the leftovers, we assume). So come on and burn the hell out your tastebuds. Life will go on, even if the chili's the last thing you ever taste.
