UPDATE: The hotly anticipated Chick-Fil-A food truck was rumored to hit streets April 9.

    It's past April 9. Where's the truck?!

NBC4's Darcy Spencer reports it'll be about two more weeks before you see it cruising around town. The D.C. franchise owner said they're still configuring the truck, which according to city regulations has to be able to fit into a parking space.

There's some disappointing news on the food front, too: The truck will have no waffle fries, no sweet tea and no lemonade. However, it will be serving sandwiches, nuggets, brownies and soda. Oh, and salads. (Meh. We mean... oh! That's great!)

The franchise owner is also considering developing a bigger truck for the suburbs. Stay tuned for more news as we get it!

ORIGINAL STORY: D.C. office denizens love their food trucks. According to our own food truck list on Twitter, there are already more than 75 food trucks roaming the streets of the capital on any given day.

But according to News4's Darcy Spencer, one food truck which might leave them all behind is coming to D.C. very soon. Spencer was out in Largo when she snapped the above picture Friday, March 25.

That's right, the Chick-Fil-A food truck will be on the streets beginning April 9, dispensing the chain's famous chicken sandwiches and waffle fries to all within walking (or running) distance.

Chick-Fil-A already has several locations in the D.C. area, including Ballston, Crystal City, and the aforementioned Largo location. But with the exception of an outlet at Catholic University, there is no Chick-Fil-A location in the District itself.
