Brasserie Beck's Beer Feast

A local chef and a visiting Belgian have brewed up something special

This Wednesday at 7 p.m., Brasserie Beck (1101 K St. NW) will be hosting a beer dinner with brewer/owner Lionel Van der Hagen of Brasserie de Silly (that's the best name ever) in Belgium. The one-night-only tasting menu will feature four courses paired with five different beers. And, after winning a RAMMY for Chef of the Year, Wiedmaier will surely throw together a fabulous meal.

If the food alone isn’t enough to tempt you, maybe the thought of savoring five kinds of beer brewed in the visiting owner's Belgian brewery will be a sufficient incentive. These beers will definitely be a step up from your college cans, and they may even put your standard Stella to shame.

With pan-seared grouper, roulade of duck confit, sliced bison strip loin and cheese selections, the meal won't leave you hungry, but at a price of $85, it may leave you broke.

Reservations are required, so make sure to sign up before you head over. It always stinks to be an unwelcome guest.
