The not-so-long wait is over for thirsty beer connoisseurs. The new owners of the Brickskeller plan to open Wednesday evening, WTOP reported.
The Bier Baron officially will open its doors at 6 p.m. and begin with a Brickskeller blowout menu -- 350 different beers left over from the former operation, WTOP reported. Another 500 kinds of beer have been ordered, too.
The bar was bought by Megan Merrifield and her husband earlier this month.
"We are keeping most of the staff, including the floor managers who are very knowledgeable about beer," Merrifield says.
Merrifield says it will take a couple of weeks to rip up the carpet and renovate bathrooms. The bar will remain open, but one of the floors may be closed while a section is being renovated.
The accompanying hotel will be called The Hotel Baron, WTOP reported.
