Forget the “Jersey Shore”.  MTV star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has set his sights on the nation’s capital!

Sorrentino has said that he wants to attend the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner coming up on May 1.

“I heard that it’s just a day where pretty much some of the biggest celebrities of the year get to come and meet the president,” “The Situation” told Politico. “My show is one of the biggest shows of the year -- and me being the main character of my show, as well as being one of the breakout stars of the year...”

Yeah, we're not sure where he was going with that, either.

Sorrentino gave himself the nickname “The Situation” because of his perfect tan and sculpted abs -- and not because he's a Wolf Blitzer fan.

An invitation to the White House Correspondents dinner actually wouldn’t be that much of a stretch.  Previous guests have included fellow MTV stars Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt -- who, by the way, said President Barack Obama inspired him to quit reality TV and get a real job.

Mr. President, we won't be offended if you happen to inspire Sorrentino, as well.  Get that man an invite!
