The divas include Conya Doss, whose vocals can be compared to Jill Scott, indie singer Sy Smith, a background singer for "American Idol," and Maya Azucena, who has as a hip-hop soul vibe. 7:30 p.m.; $29.50.

The Smithsonian Folklife Festival holds its first weekend of 2009.
