New Yoga studio offering free classes for rest of February

Stroga Yoga is saying "namaste" to its new neighborhood by offering free yoga classes for the rest of the month (which is February in case you've got brain freeze).

The free classes are offered twice a day on a first come, first served basis in the beautiful old building Stroga now occupies at 1808 Adams Mill Road NW.

So get your stressed-out body over there at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekends.

Stroga, by the way, is not doing your basic downward facing dog.   This is the offspring of Results Gym, and like the rest of the family, Stroga is going for something more creative.    Owner Doug Jeffries wants to offer a fusion of strength training and yoga (hence the name "Stroga")  which he has discovered in his own practice of this ancient art.

The Web site says Stroga is taking "functional training" to a new level.  Functional training helps optimize our bodies ability to move forward and backward,  side to side and rotationally.    Apparently functional training helps people gain and maintain flexibility and mobility as they age.   We don't need no stinkin' hip fractures!

Looking for something to give up for Lent?  Give up aging badly.  Stroga-size yourself ... free of charge.
