Hot Flicks: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The wizarding world will never be the same. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two" hits the big screen in 3D.

The movie is the darkest in the series, so parents, be warned -- it deals with sensitive material that may leave children asking questions about death.

Harry Potter and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley continue their hunt for Horcruxes, and essentially pick up where they left off in Part One.

The trio is under Professor Dumbledore’s orders to find and destroy the magical objects that will bring an end to Lord Voldemort.  But don’t expect any fun lessons at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardary.

“This is an all action film with intense emotional drama,” said Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe.

“It’s almost like a war film,” said Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley.  “It’s quite shocking to see the castle on fire.” Grint said.

At times, the movie is much more emotional than the book.

Readers will notice several scenes rewritten for dramatic effect, emphasizing love and friendship. But the overall theme of death remains true with the book.

“It’s incredibly sad in places. It’s very exciting in places. And I feel all the major characters have sublime moments,” said J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series.

The producers do a good job adding comic relief -- that’s not in the book -- to an otherwise apocalyptic battle between good and evil.

“It still has so much heart. And so much drama and so much emotional intensity and realism and truth in it,” said Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger.

Muggles who have stuck with Harry since the beginning will not be disappointed with the revelation of how he survived the killing curse all those years ago.

That’s probably the best part of the movie that really is not in the book.

The 3D and other special effects compliment the experience without being a distraction.  Many scenes were filmed in front of a green screen with actual explosions and fire, making the final battle more real.

The movie is excellent and worth a trip to the theater. We give it four out of four jalapeños.

Oh, and a tip for those who aren't hardcore Potter fans: Be sure to watch "Deathly Hallows Part One" and "The Half-Blood Prince" first.  If you haven’t, you will be confused with the revelation.
